Postgraduate training courses

The conference titled MGMCRI Intensive Surgical Training (MIST) organised by Dept. of General Surgery was conducted at Medical Simulation Centre, MGMCRI on 3-5th Oct, 2024.

  

The conference titled ISACON 2024 PONDICHERRY STATE CONFERENCE – PRE. CONFERENCE WORKSHOP ON TTE/TEE” organised by Dept. of Anaesthesiology was conducted at Medical Simulation Centre, MGMCRI on 27th Sep, 2024. About 70 delegates participated in the workshop which included consultants, senior residents and post graduates from various anesthesia departments. Guest speakers were invited from JIPMER, IGMCRI, Manakula vinayagar medical college and MGMCRI. The whole program was divided into TTE and TEE and was focused on teaching non-cardiac Anaesthesiologists. There were lectures, plastinated heart cuts demonstration, stimulated heart learning by using app and Hands-on practice sessions on Volunteers and manikin.

The course, which is designed for doctors with minimal exposure in critical care practice. Consists of a series of lectures and still stations covering many aspects of the care of critically ill patients with an emphasis on basic tenets of critical care medical practice.

The quality of initial care to a trauma victim has a significant effect on the eventual outcome. With this in mind, the MSC has developed a 2 day trauma training module for all post-graduates who are likely to be involved in the initial management of trauma, in collaboration with the Chairman of the Trauma Committee

Extended Focused Assessment Sonography for Trauma (EFAST) is an important bedside tool for the management of trauma patients. We believe that it is an essential skill for all doctors involved in trauma care. The Department of Emergency Medicine has teamed up with MSC to provide this training to this group of doctors to improve the use of, and interpretation of e-FAST.

Paediatrics Team Training Program was conducted at Medical Simulation Centre, aimed to impart the skills of communication and team training to the postgraduates by simulation based teaching.
