The Clinical Biochemistry laboratory is located in the Hospital E block. The equipment includes fully automated chemistry analyzer, electrochemiluminescence hormone analyzer, electrolyte analyzer based on ion-selective electrodes (ISE), arterial blood gas analyzer, etc.  Besides carrying out routine investigations (tests), the laboratory is also actively involved in the quantitation of several diagnostically relevant analytes including drugs, hormones, etc. All analytical measurements are subjected to strict quality check. The internal quality assurance program is facilitated by M/S Biorad USA.  

The external quality assessment (EQAS) is under the aegis of Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory, CMC, Vellore.  The Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory, MGMCRI is highly rated by Clinical Biochemistry Lab, CMC, Vellore – a national Reference Lab. The central laboratory has been accredited with NABH entry-level.

Clinical Biochemistry laboratory in the hospital provides 50,000 routine tests/month and 200 special tests month.
