Radiodiagnosis

Overview

The Department of Radiodiagnosis is one of the premier departments of MGMCRI. The Department has rapidly progressed over the years to become one of the most advanced imaging centres in the state.

The department made a humble beginning in the year 2001 with three ultrasound machines and two x-ray machines. As of present, the department is fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. The department has five ultrasound machines, thirteen x-ray machines including a fluoroscopy machine, a dual-slice as well as a 128 slice computed tomography system and a state of the art 1.5 Tesla MRI machine.

The department has become totally digital with the introduction of computed radiography and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) which makes the department filmless and also helps to serve the patients quicker. Digital radiography is to be implemented soon which will further strive to improve the quality of care given to the patient.

The aim of the management of the hospital is to provide excellent healthcare by striving to cater to the poor people of the region by providing radiological investigations that are being done at a subsidized cost.

To provide the services where individuals have access to images in the modality of choice from head to toe utilizing evidence-based latest technology at an affordable rate.

  • To provide imaging services at a reasonable.
  • To provide latest and updated technologist services to the patients.
  • To teach and train residents about the latest equipment and their Technology updates and the physics of all the sophisticated equipment and its applications, functioning in the Radiodiagnosis.
  • To educate postgraduate and undergraduate students using an integrated teaching/learning process in Radiodiagnosis and help those interested in the field to better understand the speciality and pursue a career in Radiodiagnosis.
  • To conduct innovative and pioneering clinical discussions.
  • Starting fellowship courses in radio diagnosis and radiophysics.
  • Staring M.Sc Radiology and imaging science course for the B.Sc Imaging Technology graduates.
