Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute is an on-campus constituent college of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (Deemed University), Puducherry focusing exclusively on patient care and health education.

The College is recognized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Medical Council of India. It is in full compliance with all central, state and regulatory bodies and statutory regulations. It is the first college in Puducherry to get 250 admissions for MBBS sharing a mixed culture among students coming from all parts of the country.
