Dr Dinker Pai is a general surgeon by training. He has been active in simulation-based healthcare education for the last 10 years. At present he is Professor of Surgery and Director of the Medical Simulation Centre at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, Puducherry, India. He obtained the Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) certification in from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, USA in 2016. He is a certified Team STEPPS master trainer for team training for Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), USA. He is the President of the Pan Asia Simulation Society in Healthcare and Founder-secretary and life member of the Singapore Society for Healthcare simulation. He is a life member of the Malaysian Society for Simulation in Healthcare and Board member for PediSTARS simulation society, India. He is on the Editorial board of Advances in Simulation, the official journal of SESAM (The European Society for Simulation) and site reviewer for the Accreditation committee of SSH. He is certified by NHET-SIM certification course of Monash University, Australia and has completed the Bristol Boston Masterclass for Simulation. He has been the Chairperson of the technical and advisory committees for simulation of the Kerala University of Health Sciences and is a Visiting Consultant for Simulation at many medical colleges in India and abroad. This year he was elected as a Fellow of the prestigious Academy of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare and is the only one in South Asia to have this honour. He has written several chapters and articles on simulation education in journals and text books.

Mrs. J.Deepa, MSc Nursing has graduated from Kasturba Gandhi Nursing College, SBV University. Currently working as an Instructor in the department of Medical Simulation Center,MGMCRI since 01.02.2024. She is a certified  AHA instructor for BLS & ACLS course. Additionally she has done various outreach programs for BLS notably in Rajiv Gandhi Government Women and Children’s Hospital and New Medical Centre, Puducherry. Apart from that, she has conducted more than 200  non-AHA BLS classes for the staff nurses of MGMCRI. At present she takes lecture and practical sessions on BLS  for UG, CRRI, PG and Faculties of  Medicine, Nursing, Dental and Allied health science.

 

 

Dr Dharuna Vijayakumar, MBBS, has graduated from Thiruvarur government Medical College and hospital, Thiruvarur. Currently working as a Junior Resident in the department of Medical Simulation Center since 01.06.2023. She is a certified AHA instructor for BLS and ACLS course. Additionally she has done various outreach programs for BLS notably in Rajiv Gandhi Government Women and Children’s Hospital , Aravind eye Hospital & Alliance Francaise,Puducherry.
