Postgraduate Training

The postgraduates hold the post of junior residents and are involved in outpatient care, inpatient care, emergency care of patients. They have short term postings in other specialties like cardiology, radiology, etc. They take part in active learning and teaching programmes with modem audio-visual aids. There are regular case presentations, journal clubs, symposiums, and radiological discussions. The postgraduates actively follow the guidelines of NTEP-DOTS and actively participate in special clinics conducted by the department. Dissertation topics are chosen and regular reviews are made to ensure the quality of the same. The postgraduates are regularly exposed to various national and international conferences along with the CMEs. Feedbacks from the undergraduates and postgraduates are got about each facility at the end of each academic year and self-appraisal & evaluation is also done for the students. Workplace-Based Assessment (WPBA) is done for postgraduates.

Undergraduate Training

Weekly lectures are taken for the VI the semester students. Lectures are taken in spacious air-conditioned lecture halls. State of art audio-visual aids like dual projection, document camera, and interactive panel are available. Lectures are video-recorded, edited and stored and retrievable for e-Learning and i-Teaming.

  1. Duration of clinical posting-Orientation of students posted.
  2. Pre-assessment
  3. History taking- One and a half hour teaching followed by bedside elicitation of patient history.
  4. Examination of the patient
  5. Students take case independently and present it to the faculty
