Dr. Padmavathi S., Professor of Pharmacology, is an alumnus of MGMCRI, SBV. Currently she holds the position of Vice Principal (Student Affairs) of MGMCRI. She is a self – motivated, perfecting & hard working individual with ability to grasp new ideas and integrate them into desired results.
She did her under-graduation at Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai and Post-graduation in Pharmacology at MGMCRI, Pondicherry.  She joined this institution in the year 2011 as an Assistant professor and has accumulated 13 years of teaching experience till date. She have the rich experience of guiding postgraduates and PhD candidates for their dissertation/thesis work and undergraduates for their ICMR STS projects. She has published her completed research works in reputed and indexed national & international medical journals. Her principle area of interest is Pharmacovigilance and have done the postgraduate dissertation work on the topic Cutaneous Adverse Drug Reaction. At present she is also working as the Coordinator of the Pharmacovigilance Unit of MGMCRI.
In addition to this, she is also serving as the Editor of the medical journal “Annals of SBV”, Member Secretary of SBV Media and Publicity Committee (SBV MAPCOM), Secretary of Committee for formulating guidelines for Publication Assessment and Awards, Committee member of Institutional Human Ethical Committee – KGNC & IGIDS, Member secretary of SBV Publication Committee, and also as a member of various other committees.

She is the department coordinator for the B.SC clinical research course and BDS. She is the coordinator for the medical simulation centre from the department of pharmacology. She is in charge of the pharmacovigilance unit of our adverse drug monitoring centre.
