Obstetrics & Gynaecology
Courses
The Department offers teaching services to Medical and Allied Health Science students.
Undergraduate Training
The Undergraduate curriculum is well designed as per the MCI norms. The UGs are posted with the department from the third semester onwards till the ninth semester. They are imparted with clinical skills right from the third semester. They are taught obstetric and GYN history taking and examination. Additional examination skills can be acquired at the simulation lab. Theory classes are taken as either lecture classes or as small group teaching making it easier for slow learners.
The undergrads are encouraged to present seminars in small groups to enhance leadership qualities, speaking skills and peer-assisted learning. Inter and intradepartmental integrated teaching methodology are also in place. Students are encouraged to attend quiz, present papers and posters at conferences and are given good faculty support.
Regular feedbacks are collected from students after each posting to improvise on the existing teaching-learning methods.
Postgraduate Training
The MS (OBG) course is approved by the Medical Council of India. The curriculum is designed as per MCI requirements. It includes
- Supervised patient care
- Clinical case discussions

- Allied department postings
They will be assessed based on their day to day patient care activities which need to be documented on to the e-log book. They are also required to self assess themselves on a regular basis. Self-learning is encouraged with a well-equipped library and a state art simulation lab.
They are guided into identifying a topic for research, of their interest and pursue it after approval by the ethics committee. They are encouraged and guided into publishing their research as papers, letter to editor or communication. They are allowed to attend conferences which will add up to their knowledge.
