15	Professor,HOD Dr Joshy M Easow MBBS, MD (Microbiology) Profile Summary Dr Joshy M. Easow is Professor and Head of Microbiology at MGMCRI. He joined MGMCRI on 03.10.2017. He was given additional responsibility and was promoted as Deputy Medical Superintendent of Laboratory Services with effect from October 2018. His total teaching experience as UG and PG Teacher is 23 years. He received Sponsorship for HST in Medical Microbiology from the Royal College of Pathologists, UK in 2006 and received Equivalence Letter for Eligible for Specialist Registrar in Medical Microbiology from Royal College of Pathologists, UK in 2005. He is a member of Indian Association of Medical Microbiology and Indian Association of Tropical Parasitologist. He has published more than 50 research papers in peer reviewed national and international journals. 23	Professor Dr. Srirangaraj S MBBS, MD Microbiology Profile Summary Dr. Srirangaraj Sreenivasan is a Professor in the Department of Microbiology at MGMCRI and Controller of Examinations at Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Pondicherry. He has 48 publications in various national and international journals to his credit, has authored a monograph and also contributed a chapter on Microbiology in ‘JIPMER 2014’ and ‘JIPMER 2015’ book series. He has presented 15 papers as oral or poster presentations in various regional, national and international conferences and has won prizes in conferences- for best poster and in quiz competitions. He has been a guide and co-guide for MD(Microbiology) students. He also has secured the second rank in MD Microbiology from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. He has been an external examiner for MBBS, MSc (Medical microbiology) and MD at various health science universities in South India. 31	Professor Dr Arunava Kali MBBS, MD-Microbiology Profile Summary Dr. Arunava Kali is a Professor in the Department of Microbiology at MGMCRI and Deputy Controller of Examinations at Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Pondicherry. He joined MGMCRI on 05-06-2017 as Associate Professor in Department of Microbiology and was promoted as Professor on 01-09-2019. His total teaching experience as UG and PG teacher is 9 years. He has completed training program on QMS & Internal audit in medical labs as per ISO 15189-2012, training program on the operation of VITEK2 COMPACT and WHONET software. He received a certificate and a gold medal for merit as first rank holder in MD microbiology university examination April, 2012 during the MGMCRI – Institute Day program on 15.07 2016 and a medal for academic excellence during the Doctoral Convocation held on 22.09.2017. He is a member of Infectious Diseases Society of America, International Society for Infectious Diseases and a life member of Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists. 32	Professor Dr. KalaivanI R MBBS-MD Profile Summary Dr. Kalaivnai Ramakrishnan, joined Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, Puducherry on 27th August 2012 as Assistant Professor in DEpt. of Microbiology. She completed her MBBS from Aarupadai Veedu Medical College and Research Institute, Puducherry and got Post-Graduation (MD Microbiology) from Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences, Puducherry under Pondicherry University. She has 34 Research publications in various National and International indexed journals to her credit. She has presented many research papers in various National and International Conferences. Currently working as Professor of Microbiology from 7th, September, 2019 till date. She is actively involved in Undergraduate (MBBS, BDS, MLT) and Post- Graduate (MD & MSc. Joined this institution as Tutor in 2015, and currently working as Assisstant Professor & Bacteriology-Respiratory section incharge in the Dept of Microbiology at Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute. Have been the In-charge for Central Laboratory-Microbiology for the last 4yrs and also the ICTC-Medical officer for the last 4yrs. 45	Assistant Professor Dr Vanathy K NA Profile Summary I joined this institute as an Assistant Professor on 29th July 2019. I have four and half years of UG and PG teaching experience and also for the students of BSc Nursing, Allied Medical sciences, BDS, BSc MLT and MRO/MRT. I had attended national conferences and workshops and presented papers. I have eight publications in various national and international journals. Currently I am doing a project on phylogenetic analysis and virulence gene detection of Uropathogenic E.coli. I have undergone four days training program on Quality Management System and Internal Audit in medical labs as per ISO 15189-2012.
