A disaster can be an unforeseen event; it can overwhelm the capacities of those affected and disrupt many normal human activities. Many people are periodically exposed to at least one natural disaster in their life, and most disasters, or more correctly hazards that lead to disasters, cannot be prevented; however, their effects can be minimized. As communities worldwide face the increasing frequency and variety of disasters, there is an urgent need to reduce the risk from disaster. Within this context, disaster management is significant as it can mitigate the effects; such efforts aim to reduce or avoid the potential losses from hazards, assure prompt and appropriate assistance to the victims of disaster, and achieve a rapid and effective recovery. Certificate course on ePortfolio training and management
ePortfolios are becoming increasingly popular as a strategy to enhance traditional learning and teaching methods, record achievements, collect pieces of evidence to demonstrate the acquisition of competences, the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or assist individuals with Personal Development Planning (PDP) and Personal Career Development (PCD). However, despite the growing interest in using ePortfolios for different purposes and in a variety of contexts of application, there is a lack of training activities to help individuals and/or organizations to implement and improve (if necessary) their practices with it. To foster ePortfolio initiatives we have developed the “Short course on ePortfolio Training and Management”.
