Undergraduate Training
Regular lectures are taken by the faculty for undergraduate students. Apart from theoretical knowledge, anaesthesia skills and procedures in operation theatres and intensive care are also taught to them during their clinical postings. A regular training programme on Basic Life Support is conducted for medical students, AHS students, nursing students, nursing staffs and paramedical staff. Medical and AHS Interns have postings in the department. During their postings, they receive training and hands-on experience in pre-anaesthesia checkup, I.V. cannulation, endotracheal intubation, Lumbar puncture, monitoring, CPR, ICU and ventilator management as well as acute and chronic pain management.
Postgraduate Training and PhDÂ
The postgraduates experience well-rounded training under eminent faculty in the various disciplines of anaesthesia. Programme highlights include competency-based training, simulation pedagogy and participation in seminars, journal clubs and case presentation. PGs from other departments have postings in the department. During their postings, they receive training and hands-on experience in pre-anaesthesia checkup, endotracheal intubation, Lumbar puncture, monitoring, CPR, ICU and ventilator management. The facilities of the department enable the scholars to research in basic translational research and advances in anaesthesia.
Fellowship and Observership
The department has experienced and enthusiastic faculty, who are also actively involved in conducting workshops across India. The training has been exclusively designed to impart specific knowledge and skills set required to safely and effectively perform the Ultrasound-guided regional anaesthetic techniques.
